Health & safety support on your siteOn-site HSE coordination

We support the client, project management and site management in implementing, monitoring and recording health, safety and environmental requirements on site – with a regular site presence, rigorous follow-up and immediate intervention whenever people are at risk.

Scope of service

What we take on for your site.

The core service is agreed for each project – from the level of site presence and the software used to the format of reporting.

1.1Site presence & point of contact

Attendance on site as agreed for the project, up to every working day; participation in progress meetings where health and safety is concerned; a single point of contact for site management, project management, supervisors and subcontractors.

1.2Site inspections

Independent inspections against defined priorities:

  • Housekeeping, traffic routes, escape and rescue routes
  • Edge protection at slab edges, openings, shafts and roof edges
  • Scaffolding: handover, scaffold tags, use and unauthorised alterations
  • Cranes, lifting accessories and MEWPs
  • Temporary electrical distribution, inspection tags, cable routing
  • PPE, including fall-arrest equipment
  • Hazardous substances: labelling, storage, safety data sheets
  • Fire safety, hot works and fire watches

1.3Priorities in building and civil engineering

Particular attention to work at height, roofing and cladding, crane erection and lifting operations, concrete pours, formwork, excavations, work alongside live traffic – and trades working concurrently.

1.4Subcontractors & interfaces

Direct engagement on HSE findings, deadlines agreed with site management, follow-up inspections and escalation to project management and the client. We identify conflicts between trades – work above others, within crane zones or during deliveries – and help coordinate shared traffic routes, laydown areas, scaffolding and temporary electrics.

1.5Pre-start clearance

Before high-risk or non-routine work begins, we review method statements, permits and inspection certificates, agree working methods and control measures, and flag any missing prerequisites.

1.6Recording & close-out of findings

HSE findings that cannot be rectified on the spot are recorded with photograph, description, responsible party, deadline and status – in Autodesk Forma or whichever platform your project specifies. We assign them, obtain confirmation of rectification and track them through to close-out, analysed by company, type, severity and recurrence.

1.7Safety communication

Toolbox talks, safety briefings and task-specific instruction, joint inspections with site management and subcontractors, and review meetings after incidents – with actions, owners and deadlines recorded.

1.8Incident management

Support in recording accidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences, root-cause investigation and evaluation of immediate measures, including photographic records and reporting.

1.9Construction sequence & site set-up

Health and safety review of the construction sequence, early warning of critical overlaps, and adequate lead times for scaffolding, access, edge protection and rescue routes.

1.10Immediate intervention in imminent danger

Where there is an imminent risk of serious personal injury, we do not wait:

  • We stop the unsafe activity immediately
  • We withdraw people from the danger area and make it safe
  • We inform site and project management without delay
  • Work resumes only once safe conditions have been restored and verified by us
  • The hazard, the immediate action taken and responsibilities are fully recorded

1.11Reporting

Weekly HSE reports in the project’s format: key findings, trends, recurring breaches, open actions and specific recommendations for site management, project management and the client.

2.5Regulatory visits

We prepare for and accompany visits and inspections by the labour inspectorate (Gewerbeaufsicht) and the statutory accident insurer (Berufsgenossenschaft), record their findings and requirements, and track the resulting actions to completion.

Authority and clear boundaries

To keep roles and responsibilities on site clear:

  • We challenge unsafe work, record HSE findings, require subcontractors to rectify them and agree deadlines.
  • Where there is imminent danger to life or limb, we always intervene immediately and stop the work.
  • Any further right to issue instructions to subcontractors’ employees exists only where expressly agreed in the contract.
  • Contractors remain responsible for their own risk assessments, briefings, safe systems of work and inspection of work equipment.
  • We act as SiGeKo under the German Construction Site Ordinance when expressly appointed in writing. Appointment as occupational safety specialist under the German Occupational Safety Act is not part of this service.
